Well constructed as I have come to expect from Dr. Martens! Super detail and so very comfortable! I ADORE that they zip up the inside!!! makes them very easy to wear. and being a seamstress I’m not worried if the zipper breaks! I wear these for street wear, or going out wear, as my everyday life tends to be rough. I don’t recommend these as an everyday boot if you work in mud or wet conditions. They would get RUINED!
But an everyday boot for city wear is great! I recommend spraying with some sort of waterproofing material to keep boots in top shape. Test on a small area first, as some can discolor!Overall a GREAT boot! Love em!

How It All Began
Doc Martens boots has been a staple in quality construction and aesthetic appeal, it all started in 1945, in Munich, Germany when Dr. Klaus Maertens foot was hurt in a skiing accident while he was in the Bavarian Alps. During his recovery he designed a shoe that would make it easier to walk while he healed. The shoe he invented used air-cushioned soles (which would later become Doc martens), the materials he used were old rubber tires and constructed them in a way that trapped the air within closed compartments. He showed his design to his friend Dr. Herbert Dunck, an engineer/inventor. They both worked on developing and producing the shoes. The shoes were not only helpful in a therapeutic sense but they also began to sell in Germany. In 1959 Klaus and Herbert decided to name their shoe company Doc Marten Boots. Many other manufacturers thought that the air-cushioned sole of Doc Martens boots were just a fad. The R. Griggs Group in England took a chance and began production on the first work boot with the revolutionary sole, on April 1960 the first cherry red work boot was produced. Now Doc Martens boots are worn around the world. Doc Martens boots are synonymous with quality and style.
